Gallingham refers to him as the “Butcher of the West,” which makes Hope wonder what he was really up to. Uzair Samadi – The father of Hope and Faith. He has a keen mind for military solutions, and we find out at the end of the book that he’s actually the son of Major Karsten.ĭr. He lets his actions do his talking for him, and there’s no one better with a bow and arrow. Once he recovers, he’s the one who tells the Less Thans that they’re being raised as prey. Gallingham places her and Hope in a tank of freezing water.Ĭat – A former Young Officer, Cat left the life of a Brown Shirt and made his way across the desert, only to be found near death by Book and Red. Once they’re placed in Camp Freedom, she loses weight and becomes even more frail, finally dying when Dr. Whereas Hope is all about strength and action, Faith is shyer and more delicate. She is fearless to the point of reckless.įaith – Hope’s twin. Heck, she’s just a badass with any weapon. Fiercely independent, she nonetheless finds herself attracted to Book and Cat, for different reasons. When she and Faith are captured, Chancellor Maddox orders that her long black hair be shaved off. Hope – She and her sister Faith and their father have been on the run for ten years-ever since their mother was murdered by Brown Shirts. It’s not just attraction-although there is certainly that-but also the haunted look in her eyes. He recognizes something in Hope that draws him to her. The radiation from Omega caused him to be born with one leg shorter than the other, and Dozer calls him Limp, but over the course of their journey, he becomes the group’s unofficial leader.

That being said, Simone still loved the movie, calling it “a blast” and a mix between John Wick and My Little Pony.THE CHARACTERS OF THE PREY Sisters & Less Thansīook – Like his name implies, Book is all about reading. In the movie, however, the character has been completely rewritten and is instead a young girl who draws the wrath of Black Mask after stealing a diamond from him. While she eventually learns a little bit of verbal communication, she’s defined by her mutism and struggle to relate to others.
